Rishit is a junior from India, majoring in BOS with minors in Economics, CS, and Applied Math. He is passionate about entrepreneurship, impact-driven disruptive innovation, and computer hardware. In his free time I love to read high fantasy and watch anime, he is trying to get into some non-fiction as well.
Fun fact - he has tried and survived the hottest sauce from the show Hot Ones and often likes to eat his breakfast with some of those hot sauces (highly recommend Torchbearer Garlic Reaper!). He is always on the lookout for spicy food.
Manoj is a Nepali freshman planning a major in Computer Science. He likes reading and debating and is interested in having thoughtful discussions on life, meaning and existence. He likes reasoning about things, though he often finds himself to be a "feeler" than a "thinker". One fun fact about him is that he once had the periodic table and alphabet backward ( z to a) memorized only to regret later that he had done something so useless and silly. He still remembers the alphabet backwards though. Maybe not so useless after all.
Imane is a Moroccan Sophomore with a major in Economics and a minor in Political Science. She is very passionate about culture, reading, listening to podcasts, interviews on the radio, tv shows, cinema ... anything that keeps her thinking. A fun fact about her is that once she really likes a book, a film, or just an idea, she gets quite obsessive. She can't stop thinking or talking about it, and this could get a little annoying.
Md. Irfan Sadique
He is an undecided freshman thinking of maybe majoring in BOS with a minor in psychology. He is passionate about entrepreneurship, and wants to solve major world problems with his company. He loves discussions on various topics with a cup of coffee, and loves sharing thoughts and gossiping hours about them.
Jhon is a South Korean Sophomore with a Legal Studies Major and a Computer Science minor. She is passionate about learning new things such as being up to date with current events and taking on new hobbies! A fun fact about her is probably that she slept on a bench in front of the Toledo train station during her solo travel in Spain (This was during the summer before she entered high school!).
Kevin is a Junior from India majoring in Economics. He is really passionate about cricket and a fun fact about him is that he can solve a Rubik's cube in a minute!
Andreja is an incoming freshman intending to major in Psychology. She is always excited to share her Montenegrin culture and she loves talking about books, especially those written by Sally Rooney and Jane Austen. Her passions include feminism (a proud feminism since middle school), photography and music. An annoying fact about her is that she can listen to a song on repeat for hours, which makes her the number one Spotify listener of multiple songs.
Samuel is an Ethiopian Freshman still undecided with their major. He is passionate about the manifestation of peoples' plans and ambitions in the real world and building systems that convert thoughts and ideas into reality; whether in the health sector, in business, or in any productive human endeavor. He considers watering the saplings outside his home and seeing them grow as a true blessing.
Susanne is a senior from Germany, focusing her university education on Interactive Media, Anthropology, and Design. She is passionate about intersectional (environmental) education.
Nandini is a sophomore from India with a double major in SRPP and Philosophy with minors in Psychology and Political Science. She is passionate about law and wishes to give back to the community as a criminal defense attorney. Apart from this, she is a fierce advocate for mental health awareness, education, feminism, and LGBTQ+ rights. A fun fact about her is that she can perfectly impersonate Hermione Granger's accent from Harry Potter.
Mahlet Atrsaw Andargei
Mahlet is an incoming student with an intended major in Computer science. She is that person who can only do things if they have true meaning, based on her values and beliefs. For example, she mostly clashes with her mom regarding doing house chores because she believes if it has to be done, with a concrete reason and at the right time and place, it has to be done, so she must do it in great detail. But her mom is the opposite. Because it is a necessity to do it, she does it but not in detail. Of course, mom has her own reasons but to finish this up, the fun fact and passion she has is that literally everything that conveys truth within drives her to accomplish it.
Karim is a Sophomore from Austria studying Computer Science, Mathematics, and Philosophy. He is passionate about technology, engineering, and fiction (He has written two novels.) A fun fact about him is that he went to the military because he got bored with his full-time job.
Adi is a Kazakh Senior studying Economics. He is passionate about economic development and literature.
Dilnaz is a Kazakh Sophomore interested in the intersection of finance and technology, as well as creative coding. A few years ago she created a game prototype for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), which made her passionate about innovative and effective methods of making tools and games inclusive for people with ASD. In her free time, she enjoys journaling, reading about the subconscious mind, and learning Spanish. Fun fact: every time she sees an interesting dream, she tries to interpret her actions in it and record a voice note about it.
Swostik is an Indian Sophomore majoring in Computer Science and Interactive Media. He is passionate about Technology and Artificial Intelligence and using them as a medium to make the world a better place. A fun fact about him is that he is "sleep-fluidic" - he tends to be able to change his sleep schedule how ever he wants.
Vaishali is a sophomore from India planning to major in something related to the social sciences. She is passionate about gender identity, education, and corporate social responsibility. If not busy catching up with friends, she can be found in her room reading a book or taking a late night walk through the highline, vibing to her favorite playlists. A fun fact about her is that she likes the Abu Dhabi weather even in the summer!
Armaan is an Indian Senior studying Computer Science and Film Practice with a minor in Math and IM. He is quite passionate about learning new things and just trying to absorb as much knowledge as he can and use that to create a positive impact on society. This has led him to be interested in many diverse things like Machine Learning, Quantum Mechanics, Filmography, and Photography but as of now, his main interest is in Entrepreneurship. He hopes that he can have experiences that allows him to explore this field more and to see how he can uniquely contribute to it, and thereby bring something positive to society. Fun Fact: he absolutely loves Huskies!
Lujain is a freshman from Egypt majoring in Computer Science and Film. She is passionate about making a change no matter how small it is, with an interest in environmentalism and the provision of quality education to all. She would also say she is interested in seeing the world and exploring different countries one day. A fun fact about her is that she cannot cook but that doesn't stop her from doing just that.
Tala is a Syrian-Turkish Senior who is majoring in legal studies and minoring in political science and Chinese. She is passionate about not taking things too seriously wherever possible. She will jump at the chance to make any atmosphere a little more light-hearted. She is deeply fond of D2 food and believes that the variety and flavor in dishes from the vegan section are way underrated. She urges you to give it a chance regardless of your dietary preferences as it won't disappoint.
Yasmine is an Egyptian Freshman studying Engineering. She is interested in reading about emerging technologies. A fun fact about her is that she loves music, with over 2000 songs downloaded on her phone that takes up most of her phone storage.
Dhruv is an Indian junior majoring in Mathematics. He is passionate about the more esoteric, pure side of mathematics. Recently, he has also become interested in learning about the role of math in EA. He enjoys learning languages but constantly procrastinates on learning a single one by starting to learn another. He is also very interested in mental health and well-being and finding ways to access it through different forms of movement. Fun Fact- you can keep an eye out for him on the dance floor ;)
Safal is a Nepali junior majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Interactive Media and Applied Math. He is passionate about solving problems using Computer Science and Human-centered perspectives. Fun fact: He fully believes that I'll make it big if he can compile all his dreams into a book.
Mari is a Colombian sophomore majoring in Social Research and Public Policy with a minor in Legal Studies. She is interested in exploring social complexities across regions and approaching the essence of inequality. She is also passionate about gender studies, social mobilization, and advocating for change. A fun fact about her is that she finished high school in a boarding school in Costa Rica.
Stefan is a junior from North Macedonia studying Political Science and Social Research and Public Policy. He is passionate about education and reforms, climate change, climate justice and possible solutions, ethics of using social networks, (mis)use of personal behavioral data and Internet security, as well as the connection between public policies and technologies. He enjoys cooking, reading books about political systems, psychology, and philosophy, and making Spotify playlists predominantly with songs from the 80s. One fun fact about him is that he was named the best young librarian in the country.
Sally is a Jordanian junior studying Computer Science. He is passionate about the intersection of sustainability and AI and about using new technologies to create a global impact.
Zhiyu is a junior from China studying Literature and Creative Writing, philosophy, and political science. She is passionate about futurism, neuroscience, fashion as art and poetry, and nonsensical SciFi about cyborgs, aliens, and what it means to be human. She would love to someday combine the four into a piece of art addressing our place in the universe, and why we can and shouldn't ever be sure of anything. One fun fact about her: She plans to try hang gliding soon. Yes, it is flying :)
Christine is a freshman from Taiwan who is majoring in Material Science and (hopefully) minoring in art design. She is passionate about material science, biology as well as art, design, and digital drawing. She is looking for an innovative idea to connect her interests with world issues and trying to make the biggest difference she can. Fun fact: She loves seal engraving!

Rishika is an Indian freshman majoring in Economics and SRPP. She is genuinely passionate about topics related to gender equality, kindness, mental health, and body positivity. She enjoys having deep and meaningful conversations because she believes that's where we can connect most as human beings. She loves to travel and interact with the local community. On a lazy Sunday, you can either find her trekking or trying to bake a dessert.
Yuyao (Simon) Zhang
Simon is an incoming freshman from Yunnan, in China (a Bai Chinese). His academic interest in Philosophy began during his time at Bishop Guertin (New Hampshire, US), where he co-founded his philosophy 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Nova Alexandria, and ever since then he led the team to expand accessible philosophy education to students from socioeconomically disadvantaged groups in China (and hopefully in the world soon!). A convert to Catholicism, Simon is particularly passionate about human dignity initiatives, inter-religious dialogues, and Catholic-LGBTQ+ relations. Simon’s recent academic research interests include analytic Philosophy of Religion (“Can Death Be Bad?: Rethinking Lucretius’ Symmetry Puzzle”), Buddhist-Hindu philosophical debates (“Can your Perceive Dharmas?: Kumārila’s Epistemology in Dialogue with the Buddhists”), comparative German literature and philosophy (“Suicide, Seduction, Parricide: From Confinement to Self-Discovery in Goethe’s Faust”), bioethics (“Human Dignity Beyond Brain Death?: A Neo-Aristotelian-Thomist Attempt On Determining Death”), and many others. Fun Fact: Simon is always sleepy.
Claudia Mariana Lugo Celedon
She is a Mexican junior majoring in Political Science and Legal Studies. She is passionate about women’s rights, the social and political power of the arts, and activism. She enjoys hiking, tennis, and watching the Criminal Minds series. She is excited about learning how to use her legal knowledge toward altruistic or social justice matters. Fun fact: She has watched every Harry Potter movie at least 36 times.
Christine is a freshman from Taiwan who is majoring in material engineering and (hopefully) minoring in art design. She is passionate about art design, material science, and biology. She is looking for an innovative idea to connect her interests to global issues and try to do the greater good. Fun fact: She loves seal engraving.
Shajee'ah is a Mauritian sophomore currently undecided about her major but gravitating towards SRPP with possibly a minor in Economics. She is passionate about understanding the challenges and far-reaching effects of colonialism, past, and present, across the world. She is fascinated by the history of political and social movements and how they have come to shape our identity, values, and social consciousness. She also enjoys being out in nature, doing community-building activities, and building meaningful connections with others. In addition to being a native English, French, and Mauritian Creole speaker, she is partially fluent in Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi. An aspiring globetrotter, she is interested in learning new languages to explore and gain first-hand exposure to different cultures. Fun fact: She was an amateur Muay Thai fighter before coming to NYUAD.
Maaz is a Pakistani junior studying Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, and Interactive Media. He is super passionate about watching and playing a number of sports, with his favorite being tennis! Also, he is very passionate about using technology to build something which can bring change for the good of humanity.
Ayesha is an Indian sophomore currently undecided about her major but inclined toward Psychology and Theater. Everything from traveling to the wildest of places to trying anything new, risky or adventurous or just simply having solo shower concerts is something that truly excites her. Fun fact: She loves anything that's green, from apples to avocados to mint chocolate chip to kiwis....name it and if it's green she will surely eat it :)

Fatima is a Moroccan sophomore studying Economics. Aside from academics, she likes living freely and spontaneously. She loves surfing, skate-boarding, and scuba diving. Hence, She is a big admirer of nature and cares deeply about the environment and animal rights. Fun fact, she hates Ice cream haha!
